The new 2009 Toyota Corolla was revealed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007 at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show. It was made available in North America since January 31st, 2008. In North America there are 5 models (S, CE, LE, XLE, and XRS) with prices ranging from $14,565 to $23,210. The Corolla still has an impressive fuel economy rating of 27 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The Corolla is completely redesigned from the 2003 model and resembles the design of the Toyota Camry. Toyota has added some safety features to the new Corolla which include side and curtain airbags, ABS brakes, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Also for the first time Toyota will also sell DVD navigation systems for the Corolla as an option.
